Community
I seek out community projects that aim to make a positive societal impact. The following are a few I have been involved with over the past several years.

A Mark in Time
Each year I volunteer to work with students at a local elementary school for their annual Art Auction. It's a fundraising event aimed to provide tuition assistance and greater educational resources to the school. A Mark in Time is a silhouette composite of a first grade student's experience during a historical presidential election. I went into the classroom and facilitated an art project centered around questions relating to leadership and mindfulness like "What is the first thing I would do if I were President?" and "If I had one wish for the world, what would it be?" The end result was a series of writings and mixed media pieces which I compiled and then incorporated into their silhouette portraits. Each unique poster captured a first grader's understanding/commentary of this historical moment in time. I led this collaborative effort with students, teachers and parents. The sale of these posters in addition to other auction items helped to raise $180,000.
five keys mobile school
In collaboration with the Designing Justice + Designing Spaces team, I led the design for the exterior graphics of a mobile classroom intended to bring educational opportunities/resources to underserved populations. The overall design transformed a San Francisco city bus into a learning center. I was responsible for engaging students and stakeholders in a community workshop to gather insights and I developed designs for all phases of the process from initial concepts to final vehicle wrap execution.
